Inspirational High

Our flight left for Trinidad at 6:25 am. Goodbye, Tobago.

The sun was beautiful on the clouds that time of the morning.

Hello, Trinidad. The flight is about 15 minutes going over and 20 minutes coming back.

There are some amazing couples serving in the West Indies Mission. Couples’ Conference was wonderful. We spent Feb 4-5 in Trinidad being trained and tutored by the spirit as we heard from the mission president and his wife, a counselor in the mission presidency, the office staff and some of the young missionaries. The food and the company were awesome. It was fun to see old friends and meet the couples new to the mission as well as the ones we had an email relationship with from the other locations in the mission while we were serving in the office. We had light bulbs go on and confirmations of things we were doing well. We got lots of ideas how to do things differently or better.

It is always a treat to hear from President and Sister Robison. They will take the things they heard from the senior couples and share some of it with the young elders when they have zone leader council next week and then present the findings and action plans with the elders at zone conference next Friday. This will aid in the coordination of the activities in the mission.

President Gamiette, first counselor in the West Indies Mission, talked about seminary and institute and the importance of strengthening this age group. He is employed by the church in CES and live is Guadeloupe with wife and 5 children. He has been called to be a mission president starting in July. We don't know his assignment yet...maybe the West Indies?

He wants me to try doing seminary more than once a week. I am going to try for 3 days a week and see how it goes. We will try for afternoons. In the Caribbean they are doing away with the home study format I have been using.

It was a treat to hear Hammond Mitchell play the President's pan. He is an extremely talented young man. He accompanied us singing several hymns. He is able to listen to the song partway and then provide accompaniment. We enjoyed getting acquainted with him and his mom when we were in the Arima Branch. (I have a video clip of Hammond playing but it said it was corrupted and wouldn't upload)
